THE story

Founded by Ranaya Aggarwal in 2026, following her graduation in Womenswear from London College of Fashion, Maray is a womenswear label founded and handcrafted in India.

Conceived as a love letter to women, Maray explores femininity through ideas of sisterhood, memory, softness and self-expression. Each collection looks at womanhood from a different perspective, creating pieces that feel intimate, expressive and personal.

Craftsmanship is central to the brand. Maray works closely with artisans in India, combining hand-led techniques with a refined design language while continually exploring new processes, materials and forms of making.

The result is clothing that carries the hand of its maker and the spirit of the woman who wears it.

HEADING: MA + RAY = MARAY

Maray takes its name from two sisters, Maisha and Ranaya. Ma from Maisha, Ray from Ranaya. Maisha, now 20, is a part of the brand in spirit, woven into the memories and ideas that first shaped it.

At the heart of Maray is the nostalgia of growing up as sisters. Stealing their mother’s dupattas, draping them into makeshift dresses and playing 'ghar-ghar' (a childhood game of make-believe where children play house), turning fabric into imaginary outfits and everyday spaces into worlds of their own. These small rituals of girlhood became some of their earliest memories of dressing up, storytelling and femininity.

Maray carries that feeling forward. It is about sisterhood, shared memories and the ways women shape one another as they grow.

Ma is incomplete without Ray, and Ray without Ma. Together, they make Maray.

HEADING: THE HANDS BEHIND MARAY

Maray is shaped by the hands of the people who bring each piece to life. We work closely with skilled artisans and women from rural communities across India, creating opportunities that allow traditional knowledge and handcraft to remain both valued and relevant.

Every garment is touched by a team of makers who work with patience, precision and an instinctive understanding of detail. From intricate handwork to the final finish, their skill gives each piece its individuality and depth.
